News: Congratulations to two of our key SUPERGEN Wind members – Professor Simon Watson and Ignacio Marti – on taking up major positions in leading European Universities

Simon Watson will be taking up the position of Professor of Wind Energy Systems and Director of DUWIND. 
Simon is currently a Professor of Wind Energy in CREST (the Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology) and heads up the Wind and Water Power Research Team at Loughborough University. He is also the Programme Director for the MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology and the European Masters in Renewable Energy, and has a significant role in the supervision of PhD students.

Ignacio Marti will be joining DTU Wind as the Head of Section Structures and Components. 
Ignacio is currently the Innovation & Research Director at the ORE Catapult. The ORE Catapult is one of a network of elite technology and innovation centres established by Innovate UK as a long-term investment in the UK’s economic capability. Ignacio has a central role in configuring the organisational model, the research strategy and the business plan in the UK offshore renewables sector.

Both Simon and Ignacio are longstanding members of SUPERGEN Wind and part of our management structure, and contributed a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our activities.  We look forward to continuing our links with them in their new roles.
